Remodeling a smaller sized bathroom is thought to be a fairly simple and relatively quick renovation project. With limited space available, there’s only so much you can do, right?
Wrong! Bathroom renovation becomes even more challenging when you’re working with a smaller space. With endless bathroom equipment available and plenty of bathroom styles to choose from, you’re likely to get confused on how to go about it. Less is more, in these situations, but how do you decide what to add and what not to?
Here are a few bathroom remodeling tips for you.
Be Flexible With Your Bathroom Vanity
Everybody loves a good bathroom vanity. The cabinetry structure not just holds the sink, but also gives you plenty of room to store your cleaning supplies and miscellaneous bathroom accessories.
The counter itself is a great place for you to keep your everyday items, such as soap, shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush holder. You can even keep your everyday cosmetics there, always at hand’s reach.
When you have a smaller bathroom, getting a large vanity isn’t an option. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have one at all! Instead, choose a pedestal style vanity with a single shelf. You won’t be able to store everything in the cabinet, but it’ll give you enough space to keep towels, spare toilet paper rolls, and a wastebasket.
Alternately, you can opt for a rounded style vanity that would fit well in tight corner spaces. This will make your bathroom appear larger and more spacious, instead of it looking cramped.
Install a Wall-Mounted Faucet
Faucets come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. One way to utilize maximum space while not overcrowding your bathroom is using wall-mounted faucets. This type of faucet style goes well with narrower vanities or sinks, freeing up considerable space.
Replace the Shower Door with a Curtain
Do you have enough space in your bathroom to install a shower door? If you’re remodeling a 6 feet wide bathroom space, you barely have room to adjust a toilet, smaller-sized vanity or sink, and a shower or a small tub. Adding a glass door within this space wouldn’t do at all, and make it even more cramped than it already is.
Free up your bathroom space by opting for a shower curtain instead. With this, you’ll have the liberty to move the curtain back and forth as needed, and you can simply slide it on one side when you’re not using it. You’ll be saving a lot more space than you would have with a glass door. Not to mention, you can choose a curtain pattern of your liking that lifts up the bathroom as well!
